Terms of Use

Last updated: November 4, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website at ii-me.us, the certificate verification service at cert.ii-me.us, and related online services (collectively, the "Services") provided by the International Institute of Mechanical Engineering ("IIME"). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be legally able to enter into a binding agreement to create an account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Please notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

2. Use of the Services

You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

  • provide false or misleading information, including in an enrollment or certification application;
  • attempt to access accounts, systems or data that you are not authorized to access;
  • interfere with or disrupt the operation or security of the Services;
  • use automated means to scrape, harvest or query the Services, including the verification service, beyond reasonable individual use;
  • copy, distribute or disclose course or examination materials without authorization; or
  • misrepresent your certification status or that of any other person.

3. Courses, Examinations and Certification

Enrollment in courses, participation in examinations and the award of certificates are subject to our Certification Policy, Examination Integrity & Anti-Fraud Policy, Refund & Cancellation Policy and other policies published on this website, which form part of these Terms. Completion of a course does not by itself guarantee certification; certification is awarded only when all published requirements are met.

4. Accredited Training Centers

Many IIME courses are delivered by independent training centers accredited by IIME. Accredited centers are responsible for the delivery of training at their facilities and must comply with our Training Center Accreditation Policy. Accredited centers are not agents of IIME except as expressly stated in writing.

5. Fees and Payments

Fees are shown at the time of purchase and are payable in advance unless otherwise agreed in writing. Payments are processed by third-party payment processors subject to their own terms. Refunds are handled under our Refund & Cancellation Policy. You are responsible for any taxes, bank charges or currency conversion fees applicable to your payment.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on the Services, including course materials, examination content, text, graphics, logos, the IIME name and marks, certificate designs and software, is owned by or licensed to IIME and is protected by intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access the Services for your personal, non-commercial use. Certificate holders may use IIME marks only as permitted by the Certification Policy.

7. User Content

If you submit content to the Services, such as comments, reviews or documents, you grant IIME a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use that content for the purpose of operating the Services. You represent that you have the right to submit such content and that it does not infringe the rights of others.

8. Third-Party Links and Services

The Services may contain links to third-party websites or services, including payment processors. IIME is not responsible for the content, policies or practices of third parties, and your use of them is at your own risk.

9. Disclaimers

The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, IIME disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. IIME certification attests to the competence demonstrated at the time of assessment; it is not a license to practice and does not replace any legal or regulatory requirement applicable in your jurisdiction or industry.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, IIME shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Services. IIME's total liability for any claim relating to the Services shall not exceed the amount you paid to IIME for the specific service giving rise to the claim during the twelve months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless IIME and its officers, staff and examiners from any claims, losses or expenses arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of the Services.

12. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services if you breach these Terms or our policies, or if required to protect the integrity of our certification scheme. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the laws of the state in which IIME is organized, without regard to conflict of law principles. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.

14. Changes and Contact

We may revise these Terms at any time by posting an updated version on this page. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Questions about these Terms may be directed to us using the contact details published on our Contact page.
